Meet Donna OBrien Just Mortgages

Hi, I’m Donna!

I have worked in financial services for nearly 25 years, beginning my career with RBS in 2002. I later joined Cheshire Building Society and then Nationwide, working my way up from serving customers at the counter to management and mortgage advice. I also worked at DB Mortgages in Chester, where my responsibilities included underwriting cases, quality checking and handling complaints.

After gaining extensive experience across the banking and building society sector, I became self-employed in 2018. I have now specialised in mortgage and protection advice for nearly 10 years.

I love helping people achieve their property goals, whether they are purchasing their first home, moving to their dream home, remortgaging or buying a property as an investment. I understand that arranging a mortgage can sometimes feel overwhelming, so I pride myself on providing friendly, straightforward advice and excellent customer service throughout the process.

I was born and raised in Wrexham and have lived here all my life, with much of my family still living close by. I am also proud to serve as a Community Councillor for Ruabon, where I live. Supporting the local community is very important to me, and I enjoy volunteering at the Caia Park Hub, including helping with its Give and Take stalls. I also enjoy volunteering at local fêtes and Eisteddfodau, supporting events that bring people together and celebrate our community and Welsh culture. I am currently learning to speak Welsh and enjoy developing my language skills and strengthening my connection with Welsh culture.

Outside of work and my community involvement, I love spending time with my son, two stepchildren and three step-grandchildren. I also have two dogs, Benji and Lewy, who enjoy walks around Erddig and Tŷ Mawr. I occasionally take my son’s dog, Tilly, along for a walk too. When I have some quieter time, you will usually find me reading or enjoying my garden.
