Meet Michael Thomas

Hi I’m Michael.

I’m a mortgage and protection adviser based in Paddock Wood, Kent, where I have lived with my family since 1995. I have three grown-up children and a cockapoo called Loki. I grew up near Croydon and began my career in retail before moving into banking with Halifax, where I first trained in mortgages.

My mortgage experience began at Halifax, where I progressed to branch manager before moving to Alliance & Leicester in the same role. I managed branches in both Tonbridge and Edenbridge for several years and, over a 20-year banking career, also worked for Britannia Building Society and NatWest.

Since 2021, I have worked as a self-employed adviser under the Just Mortgages brand, supporting clients across Kent, Surrey and Essex. Having worked within the banking background and as a self-employment adviser has given me a great understanding of the mortgage market and the needs of different clients.

Outside work, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family, especially by the coast and in the countryside. We often visit Hastings, Eastbourne and Bexhill-on-Sea for walks along the seafront. I also enjoy playing golf when I can. Whether you are buying, investing or settling down, I look forward to helping you take your next step.

My focus is on what works best for you. Depending on your location, I can offer face-to-face appointments, and I am equally comfortable meeting online via Teams, Zoom or Google Meet. I will also work with you to arrange appointment times that fit around your working week.
