Meet Ian Gartside
Hi, I'm Ian. I am ex military, former Second Lieutenant in the 3rd Battalion The Royal Green Jackets. I have served in Northern Ireland, Gibraltar and the UK. I am an avid rugby union supporter of my local team Waterloo RUFC. I have a wife called Sarah and have been married for 18 years. I have 2 cats called Sapphire and Marmite. I love mountaineering, travelling, Especially to Italy. I enjoy the outdoor life, walking, reading and Roman history and art.
I live in Liverpool, but originate from Blackpool. I have travelled the world with the forces and have worked as a tour leader for Explore worldwide, where I lead tours in Syria, Armenia, Eastern Turkey and Madeira.
I love quality and enjoy fine dining, especially Italian food. I would like to be fitter, but heh ho…don’t we all 😊
